Your Mama Don't Dance

itsjustwrong.jpg

Flipping channels last night, and I caught a preview of a new Lifetime show...kids and their parents in a dance competition. I stopped flipping just long enough to see this daughter expressing how she felt about her father. She loves him...oh, that's nice. Wow, she really loves him. Ok, we get it...stop crying,,,you love him.

Is it me, or is this show dangerously close to the edge of some serious wrongness? Like, Angelina and her brother at the Oscars wrongness.

I have never posted a comment in my life but I had to respond to this one. I watch all dance shows just because I love dancing, any and all dancing. Sometimes I have a hard time watching this show, not because I think the relationships between the children and parents are "wrong" but because it makes me envy the relationships. I wish that I had a parent that would make a fool out of themselves to participate in something that I love. There is nothing wrong, borderline or otherwise with these children and parents. Believe me if my parent made that kind personal sacrifice for our relationship I would sing their praises too. I just can't see any way that any part of this could be considered even borderline wrong. Seriously, keep watching and you can see how hard they are working and the children are appreciative. As well they should be! Even the judges have appreciated watching there relationships grow. I think that more children (and parents too) should shout out how much they love and appreciate each other. I'm sorry and I don't mean to offend but how sad that anyone would watch this show and ever consider there relationships "wrong". Angeline and her brother...yes! What is wrong with us when we place judgment because a child said they love their parent too many times.
