Here's a fun little project for today.

Robots.jpg

We've had robots on the brain recently, so why not continue the fun. Via NotCot, Chop Shop t-shirts has introduced a new shirt called WeRobot, featuring a pattern of 51 robots from "film, television, books, toys and one even from a famous classic rock album". They challenge you to name all 51, and I got, oh...maybe six? But if we're supposed to be the greatest pop culture blog on the planet, we should be able to knock 'em out, no problem...right?

Here's what I have so far (numbered shirt after the jump)
1) 16: Lost in Space robot
2) 10: Crow T. Robot from MST3K
3) 17: Berzerk video game robot
4) 20: Rock'em Sock'em robot
5) 27: Robot Owl from Clash of the Titans
6) 29: R2D2

My maybe's include: 12 from War of the Worlds? 28 from The Matrix? 43 from Robocop? 45 is Sigourney's machine from Aliens? And is 5 a Roomba? If it is, that's great. Can we get all 51?

said Nutty on March 26, 2008 7:16 PM.

said toastbot on March 27, 2008 11:35 AM.

I really need to get this shirt.

As for unguessed ones, is #24 from Robotron? And #47 is Dr. Theopolis from Buck Rogers.

If mgrodzki is looking for replacements for Megalon or additions in general, here's some suggestions:

Gypsy from MST3K
Dot Matrix from Spaceballs
Pneuman from Tom Strong
Ultron or The Vision from The Avengers
Cyberman from Dr. Who
TikTok of Oz
ABC Warrior from Judge Dredd
post-Crisis Braniac from Superman
Kryten from Red Dwarf
X-51 (aka Machine Man, aka Aaron Stack) as he appeared in Earth X
Sonny from I, Robot
Rodney Copperbottom from Robots

I'm sure I could keep coming up with more, but unless there's XXXL sizes of the shirt he's going to run out of room.

said License Farm on March 30, 2008 4:07 AM.

check the site… he’s been replaced. also replaced the lower left one as nobody could recognize it.
