BigDog Beta
4 Comments

Surely by now, you've seen the quadruped robot from Boston Dynamics called BigDog. We've featured it here before. More than once. And surely when you saw it, you thought the same thing I did. And so did these folks.

A Slow Slap in the Face

I'm awful. I had to laugh at this poor guy getting slapped just because he looked so funny. The video was taken at 4000 frames per second and slowed down for our pleasure. The things folks do to entertain you!

Would the driver of vehicle license 115 0430...

Picture 23-2.jpg

Advice for anyone cruising Chicago's South Side for illegal substances - just make sure you're not being trailed by undercover officers.

Or - it seems - the Google Maps team, who inadvertantly captured what appears to be a drug deal going down when taking images for their street view maps. All the offending images have since been pulled, but Gawker grabbed them all and has the story.

Chris Cornell sings Billie Jean

Fo anyone (like me) who loved David Cook's performance of Billy Jean last night on American Idol, and who also (like me) hadn't heard this arrangement before, here's Chris Cornell's original version.

DWP - Driving Without Pants
1 Comment

I guess DWI wasn't enough for Rockville Center resident Angelica Buchanan. She was also caught driving without her pants on. Seems crazy I know, but when you have a suspended license, are driving drunk, with marijuana in your car, maybe removing your pants is a strategic move to divert attention.

Attached is one article from AP.

Haterade once again is 2 for 3 - and he got both the bottom two. But Kristy Lee Cook is still there. Can she survive a third week? Or will the laws of Idol get her? Haterade will give you his predictions.

Hi, I'm Deltalina...Fly Me.

Deltalina.jpg

Have you met Deltalina? She's the star of Delta's saucy new safety video. She likes horseback riding, walks on the beach and upright seats and tray tables. But she hates smokers, so I'm out of luck.

Please take a moment to watch a short instructional safety video prior to takeoff, after the jump, and get all those Carly Simon three-way fantasies out of your head.

Robots.jpg

We've had robots on the brain recently, so why not continue the fun. Via NotCot, Chop Shop t-shirts has introduced a new shirt called WeRobot, featuring a pattern of 51 robots from "film, television, books, toys and one even from a famous classic rock album". They challenge you to name all 51, and I got, oh...maybe six? But if we're supposed to be the greatest pop culture blog on the planet, we should be able to knock 'em out, no problem...right?

Here's what I have so far (numbered shirt after the jump)
1) 16: Lost in Space robot
2) 10: Crow T. Robot from MST3K
3) 17: Berzerk video game robot
4) 20: Rock'em Sock'em robot
5) 27: Robot Owl from Clash of the Titans
6) 29: R2D2

My maybe's include: 12 from War of the Worlds? 28 from The Matrix? 43 from Robocop? 45 is Sigourney's machine from Aliens? And is 5 a Roomba? If it is, that's great. Can we get all 51?
