The Wire Rewind: Season 5, episode 6

wire-omar.jpg

Coming off the death of Prop Joe and the ambush of Omar, The Wire heads into Episode 6 aiming to build momentum.

The action beings with Marlo's crew, Chris, Snoop, et all. looking everywhere for the vanished Omar. Checking hospitals, sewers, vacants even posing as Detectives to the locals. Thankfully Omar's not where they're looking and, as one would expect, he's mighty pissed. Broken leg and all, he begins to terrorize the Co-Op members. Marlo knows he's a target. Chris and Snoop are mighty concerned.

Meanwhile McNulty and Lester's case hits a road block forcing them to take drastic measures. (They think the serial killer case is about get full support but it's only a PR call from Carcetti and the mayor's office.) They manage to get a wire up on Marlow but quickly realize he's sending picture messages. So McNulty kidnaps a homeless guy and drops him away from Baltimore in an effort to snag more man power and sophisticated equipment.

At the Baltimore Sun, Scott Templeton is unknowingly becoming the key to McNulty's plan. All we know is that McNulty plans to use Scott, whom he knows is making stuff up, to make more of the killings. Perhaps Scott may take the fall for everything too if McNulty gets caught???

Then Clay Davis realizes he's going to have to take one for the team but he's going to put up a good front first. While DA's Pearlman and Bond realize they have a leak in their department.

Lastly, Marlo has taken control of the co-op. He starts by disbanding the meetings, raising prices and blaming Prop Joe's death on Omar. The other members aren't happy. Surely they're planning payback.

Oh and on a side note, Nick Sobotka (Season 2) has a small cameo and gets arrested at a Carcetti rally. Glad you're still with the ports Nick.

This is such a nitpick, I hate to even bring it up - Stanfield's first name is "Marlo," not "Marlow."

My bad. I'll be sure to tweak the entries.
