I've never been good in coming up with nicknames for friends. The closest I came was calling my security blanket growing up, "Mr. Blanket". Members of the mob, who I'd like to go on record as saying I have the greatest respect for and would never want any harm to come to me or my family for them thinking otherwise, have always come up with the greatest nicknames for their friends. So when I read the
indictment of more than 50 members of New York area crime families who were arrested today, I got a kick out of reading their aliases.

Two other things impress me. First, what if you were one of those who didn't deserve a nickname. How embarrassing!
Second, it appears that the entire indictment was typed on a typewriter. How 1980's!
Ah, just in time for the latest mob roundup: http://www.wnbc.com/investigations/15240930/detail.html
yeah, the guys without nicknames must be jealous as hell. what must be interesting is knowing where some of those nicknames come from like "the electrician.
