If you haven't heard, Chris Matthews got a few million people riled up recently by saying the main reason Hillary Clinton was elected Senator of New York was because Bill messed around. I watched him say it on the Morning Joe show, and my immediate reaction was "whoa, that's gonna hurt in the morning" but I have to say I agreed with him to a degree.
When I think back to the Clinton days, I know that's the most I knew about Hillary back then. And I'll bet there were thousands of articles about the First Lady who stood by her man. I'm not saying she didn't have some great accomplishments before then, but I'll bet the fooling around thing is what most people knew her for. I suppose that kind of talk comes under the heading of politically incorrect times ten, but I love it when I hear honest opinions instead of the pc stuff.
So, what do you think? Was he right? And even if he was right, should he have said it?
Actually, the reason Hillary got elected was because Guilliani got cancer and dropped out 5 months before the election.
She ran against an unknown republican in a blue state, and won by a healthy margin. I voted for her, and was very pleasantly surprised that she made a much better senator than the carpetbagger she first appeared to be.
