Barnes and Noble recently launched a new how to brand called Quamut. It's like a cross between the For Dummies books and Cliff Notes - only a lot more concise and simple. The goal being to "take on subjects big and small and present them on concise printable charts that you can take anywhere." Quamut topics can focus narrowly or broad. Like How to make sushi , or how to buy a hybrid, or how to Feng Shui and more.
You can purchase the portable/printable Quamut cards (6 page, hand-held fold outs) at Barnes and Noble, bn.com or on the Quamut site. Looks like they cost $2.95.

The areas Quamut covers right now are Hobbies & Leisure, Money & Business, Computers & Tech, Mind & Body and House & Home. But the site and brand are fairly new so I'm sure it'll expand. It's also wiki enabled for a broader discussion and user input. Time will tell if this idea will stick but lord knows there's an audience and a market for teaching people simple ways to do stuff.
Oh, in case you're wondering Quamut is latin for "How to."
