Via Gothamist...This summer, New York City will host the biggest art installation since The Gates. Scandinavian artist Olafur Eliasson has been commissioned to build four waterfalls, ranging from 90 to 120ft in height, at locations in the East River and NY harbor, near the southern tip of Manhattan.
The privately funded project costs 15 million dollars, and will be up from mid-July to mid-October. Can't wait!

Couldn't 15 million dollars be better spent making a park or playground or some community building rather that a waterfall that will only be up a short while?
