A few days ago I bookmarked a recipe for Bacon-Flavored vodka to try making, but in the last few days, the site has gone dark. Luckily, Google still has a cache of the page, so before it gets lost forever, I thought I'd rerpoduce it here to add to our growing list of bacon-themed ingestibles.
Bacon Vodka
Makes up one pint
- Fry up three strips of bacon
- Add cooked bacon to a clean pint sized mason jar. Trim the ends of the bacon if they are too tall to fit in the jar. Or you could go hog wild and just pile in a bunch of fried up bacon scraps.
- Optional: add crushed black peppercorns.
- Fill the jar up with vodka. Cap and place in a dark cupboard for at least three weeks.(No need to refrigerate)
- At the end of the three week resting period, place the bacon vodka in the freezer to solidify the fats. Strain out the fats through a coffee filter to yield a clear filtered pale yellow bacon vodka.
- Decant into decorative bottles and enjoy.

I'd like my martini bacon, not stirred.
Will, you owe me a new keyboard.
Sometimes at night, I get pretty lonely. I guess I'm kind of a sad guy.
I want to hug you and humbly, in your presence, drink myself pitiful

Dude, I'm usually too lazy (and drunk) to cook/make anything, but I think I might muster up the motivation to combine two of my most beloved ingestables.
If you Google "bacon vodka," there is a Google cache of a /ck/ page with pictures of the entire process of bacon vodka making. Only it's from this summer and is a completely different person.
How fried should the bacon be fried ?
My brother-in-law made some of this and it's really pretty good.
And for a holiday breakfast treat with a kick: bacon 'n egg nog!
