It’s hard to do a 2007 review of the sports world without mentioning performance-enhancing substances. HGH. Steroids. Creams and clears. Doping, they all made big news this year. In 2007 some athletes finally admitted they used it, others killed their families on it, others still tried to prove their innocence and then their are the new names on the list. Something tells me we'll be doing a similiar poll with new names in 2008.

Benoit didn't kill his family on steroids - the sheriff and medical examiner, as well as the autopsy proved that. His problem was a lot more complex than the 'roid-rage' scapegoat that ignorant people love and continue to use.
As long as people keep deflecting the blame onto the drug they want it to be on and making false accusations in light of actual facts, shit like this is going to get a lot worse before it gets better as people find new ways to "enhance" and extend their careers (in real sports as well as "sports entertainment").
