Two seemingly unrelated facts that I read back to back today that have put me in a real funk. I don't know whether to be angry at NBC, or the networks in general, or the average TV watching idiot, who prefers mindless pap to entertaining drama. Tonight's episode of Journeyman - one of the best new shows of the year - might well be the last ever, due to palty viewing figure. Because it seems what America really wants much more is new episodes of The Donny and Marie Osmond show.
Gonna go beat my head against a wall now.

Two words: "writers' strike". I've never seen Journeyman but at least NBC can blame bad ratings AND the strike for killing it off. Fox just canned Firefly for bad ratings despite having GREAT writing.
I'm going to really miss Journeyman. My favorite show this year along with Pushing Daisies.
We're in for a heavy dose of reality shows and donnie and marie types. Wasn't Journeyman a bit Quantum Leap-ish though? I admit I didn't give it much of a chance because I fealt NBC was recycling an old idea.
I think that's why people didn't give Journeyman a fair chance because they wrote it off as a QL ripoff.
Instead, they're missing out on the most intelligent, well written and acted dramas this year.
Does this mean NBC will give Victoria Beckham show another chance? Sweet! I really want to see the season finale - I think she's supposed to actually smile.
