Why New York City? Probably because it’s where the sponsors, the media, the ad agencies want to celebrate.

For the 2nd year in a row Nextel Champions Week celebrates Jimmy Johnson and the #48 Lowe’s / Hendrick Motor Sports Chevrolet.
There’s events and show cars at spots all around the city. No matter what you think of stock car racing you still may find the Wednesday AM Victory Lap interesting. The top 12 drivers parade around the streets of Manhattan in their cars scaring the suits out of their wingtips and rattling the windows of Madison Avenue.
