Go! Film

A few weeks ago, there was an interesting post over on the House of Naked blog, that discussed the impact of shooting film for your blog posts as opposed to using digital imagery. The world of Typepad and Movable Type is so immediate, that sometimes we lose sight of the impact good old-fashioned kodachrome can have on visual design.

Taking that a logical step further, it's interesting to see some new documentaries popping up on YouTube that have been professionally shot on Super8, such as this documentary about The Go! Team. I realize it's pretty easy to apply a compression filter in Final Cut that will apply a film look to video, but there's still something about real Super 8 that gives a raw, timeless appeal.

And if you like what you hear here, American Eagle are currently offering a free download of The Go! Team's "Milk Crisis", but for a limited time, so get it early for Thanksgiving.
