October 30th sees the release of Ronnie Wood: The Autobiography, a new book by rock n roll legend, Ron Wood. Any man that's played alongside both Rod Stewart and Mick Jagger deserves some blog love. Frankly, I'm surprised he can remember half of what he's done, but luckily we have video evidence to fill in some of those memory holes. After the jump...
Ronnie and Slash rock the house with their version of "Paradise City"
Ron and Keef don't do too badly for a couple of old rockers :)
Ron does his best impression of Nigel Tufnell.
Ronnie accompanies The Corrs on Ruby Tuesday. Is it just me or are female drummers extremely hot? (Karen Carpenter not withstanding)
Vintage Ron, with Rod Stewart and The Faces on TOTP playing "Maggie May". And yes, that IS John Peel on mandolin.
You'll never look at TV the same way again.
Part one of the full story of The Faces (and here's the rest - 2 3 4 5 6 7
From their 1997 tour, one of my favorite Stones tracks - Gimme Shelter
Sign of a great guitarist - don't be distracted by nude streakers.
The Ron Wood bodycam gives you an inside look at what it's like to be on stage with The Stones. Pity he didn't keep it strapped on for the afterparty.
And finally, live from The Roundhouse in 1972, probably The Faces biggest hit, "Stay With Me".

This is not complete without footage of Rod and Ronnie co-presenting at the first MTV music awards in 1984(?). It captures the essence of the Faces' live act (aside from the music that is) 10 years later, thru their inability to form coherent speech or, by th end, even to walk properly. A classic, I shall try to find it.
