It's semifinals time at the YesBut Halloween Mascot Competition, and force battles the force, as Superman goes head to head with Leia. Who's going to the finals?
UPDATE: At 148 - 70, it's Leia beating Superdog to be the first pooch to the finals. The force is strong with this one.
When I move to New York, this is where I want to live. I could handle a view like that. Ha! 200 Eleventh Avenue is scheduled for occupancy in 2008. Sixteen limited edition homes range from 1,300 square feet to nearly 3,500 square feet. Ceilings range from a minimum of 11 feet to 24 feet. Most have three bedrooms and 3.5 baths, so you never have to share a bathroom, and your guests can take a half of a bath. Fourteen residences feature parking in your apartment! This was a big week for Second Life, as CSI: NY kicked off a 4-month tie-in with the virtual world on Wednesday's episode that leads viewers to a CSI: NY experience in Second Life. The cliffhanger episode airs in February, but it is unclear whether the audience participation in Second Life will affect the resolution of the story.
Having spent some considerable time inside Second Life, I preferred The Office's take last night:
Dwight: "Second Life is not a game, it is a multi-user, virtual environment. It doesn't have points or scores, it doesn't have winners or losers."
Jim: "Oh it has losers."

Whoops! We're not sure if it was your fault or ours (probably yours, we're good that way) but you've encountered a FATAL ERROR!!! Or at least, a pretty grumpy one.
Specifically the Latvians who run our server are telling us in a weird accent "Smarty error: [in evaluated template line 5]: syntax error: unrecognized tag 'mtfeed' (Smarty_Compiler.class.php, line 580), Comrade!". Ain't life a bitch.
