Move over, Oprah!
crocker.pngChris Crocker sobbing about Britney Spears? Laugh all you want -you may be watching him on TV soon.
Since August, Crocker and 44 Blue Productions, a Studio City, California, firm specializing in documentaries and reality programming, have been pitching shows to several networks, including MTV and LOGO, a gay and lesbian channel. Crocker signed on with 44 Blue in May.

You know, kids, all it takes to make it in the internet age is some fabulous balls. So go to it and give me some new material!

Welcome to the Slope, Bitch
Last month I moved to Park Slope, Brooklyn. What I thought would be a family-friendly, "livable" neighborhood is really a vast blight on the city. The stench of dirty diapers fills your nostrils as you carefully step over diseased pacifiers strewn about the unkempt streets, cluttered with abandoned baby strollers.

My Roommate is Such a Dick!
smoke.JPGNo, not a personal story; I live with my kids. Sure I can complain about them, but I only have myself to blame. This is a new site to vent your frustrations about the idiot sharing your living space. I don’t know if this will change anyone’s behavior, but looking through the submissions may make you feel better about your own situation. Some entries may be disturbing for sensitive people.

"Feast" of Burden

"Feast of Love" ** (out of four): The latest effort by director Robert Benton is riddled with good intentions and heartfelt musings – it's just too bad that it all seems like a charade, romance by way of a Hallmark card.

The only thing worse than getting involved in a phony love affair is watching several of them unfold throughout the course of a movie. "Feast of Love," the latest effort by director Robert Benton (who's done everything from the great "Kramer vs. Kramer" to the far-from-great "The Human Stain"), is riddled with good intentions and heartfelt musings – it's just too bad that it all seems like a charade, romance by way of a Hallmark card. Though, on the plus side, it is a step up from writer Allison Burnett's previous gag-inducing screenplay for "Autumn in New York." Take that as you will.

Breakfast Links
Scheuer.jpg

- Got an idea for a new Facebook app? It could make you $250,000 richer.
- The head of the snake is the best part of the "Don't Taze Me Bro" T-shirt.
- A collection of Simpsons scenes, and their reference movie counterparts.
- A classic SNL clip with Will Ferrell teaching a class the real benefit of yoga.
- And last Friday's Real Time was one of the best ever. Here's one clip.

Hey...is something going on in the city, today?
24visit.jpg

We're the United States...Aren't we supposed to take the moral high ground in situations like these? That's what I keep thinking, as I see more and more images of protestors asking Columbia how they could possibly give a forum to this animal.

No one's saying Ahmadinejad isn't a world class jerk...he could be giving aid to Iraqis who are killing American soldiers, and he doesn't think the Holocaust happened (neither does Mel Gibson) and he wants Israel to just go away. But this isn't about him...it's about us. Especially at a University where students are taught to constantly ask questions, not to turn away when the situation doesn't suit you.

I saw a clip this weekend of Republican Senator Chuck Hagel being questioned about this, and he responded "Why wouldn't you want to allow these people to speak, and allow our people to question them?" It's called a dialogue, and sometimes it helps stop little things like wars. We keep getting these great opportunities to do the right thing, and we keep blowing them.

What do you think?

Top Ten Best Live Aid Performances

22 years ago I was working as a bartender in a restaurant in Ealing Broadway the day of the Live Aid concert, so I didn't get to see all of the show (unlike one of my friends who actually scored a ticket for the Wembley gig). But careful programming of my VCR on Extended Play meant that I still have most of the performances on tape. I recently came across them and was amazed at how well some of the performances stood the test of time, but the question remains - what exactly were the ten best performances of the show?

Take a look at my choices and then weigh in with your own opinion.
