If you don't know all of them, you know at least some. You met most of them right here!

Yesterday they announced the shortlisted finalists for the OMMA Awards, given out for online advertising creativity. And I note it here purely for selfish reasons, as two projects I worked on as Creative Director are on the list of finalsists
In the Best Advertising Website category, there's the Journey microsite for the Wall Street Journal, which I first blogged about here. Check it out - I oversaw the concept and even lovingly videoed the behind the scenes clips.
And in the Best Use of Virtual Worlds category, there's the Virtual Thirst campaign for Coca-Cola that I helped bring to Second Life and wrote about here.
It's all pretty ironic timing, because in the past few days I've decided to leave crayon, the new media start up I've been working at since the beginning of the year to explore different opportunities. I know a few advertising folks read this blog, so I just wanted to throw that out there. I'm looking. Portfolio here. Resume here.
Luciano Pavarotti passed away today at the age of 71. He was the best-known opera singer outside of the world of opera, largely because of his "Pavarotti and Friends" series. He would sing with just about anyone. And though he is gone, he lives on at YouTube. After the jump, see Pavarotti duets with Barry White, Queen, Bono, The Spice Girls, Lou Reed, Meatloaf, James Brown, and more.
Here are a couple more to start 2007.
Kelli Croyle
Brodie Croyle did not win the starting job in Kansas City. No reason to feel sorry for him.
Emily Harrington
Big offseason for her husband Joey. He gets bumped into a starting role in Atlanta after Michael Vick's dog-killing escapades, and also got hitched.
If there is an outcry for more research into the other quarterbacks' wives, there may be a more thorough update later this season.
Short and silly, but it made me laugh!

Each week we run down the 5 most interesting comics that come out on Wednesday. Due to Labor Day and the delayed shipping schedule, this week that means Thursday. Here's what to look for today.
"Shoot 'Em Up" *** (out of four): This hyperkinetic, ultra-violent, guns-a-blazin' actioner from writer-director Michael Davis can be accused of many things - stupidity, misogyny, the death of American film as we know it - but false advertising is not one of them.

It must be liberating to make a movie that has no aspirations but to provide ridiculous, non-stop, over-the-top action. For examples, see the collected works of Luc Besson and/or Jason Statham - a catalog of films whose quality decreases proportionally with the number of letters in the titles ("The Transporter", "Crank", "War"). Unhindered by pesky trivialities like plot, believability and sense, these films are like energetic puppies nipping at your heels begging for attention. "Shoot 'Em Up" - from writer-director and James Bond fanatic Michael Davis - lacks the style of ultra-violent classics like "El Mariachi" or "Hard Boiled", but there's no denying the inventiveness of the gunplay (John Woo, an obvious inspiration and the genre's godfather, would be proud). With its single-minded obsession with all things triggered, "Shoot" is a blast before its ammo is spent.
- Think of a really bad idea for a flick, then multiply by ten, and you get this.
- I thought a fatty nano was a deviant sexual act that happens at senior centers.
- Speaking of fatty nano, She just finished singing. Luciano Pavarotti isa no more.
- An interesting article on the state of construction at the World Trade Center site.
- And I know I'm way late to the party on this, but Amy Winehouse is amazing.
