There's no use getting around the fact. I'm fat. Middle aged spread had crept up on me, and has made me feel ten years older than I actually am. I'm lethargic, I'm out of shape, I feel uncomfortable wearing everything I own. I think I'm even developing manboobs, for chrissakes.

You can call me an asshole if you want to, but this story really brightened my day, and I’m not ashamed to admit it.

The Feelies were an amazing band from the 80's that never quite got the attention they deserved. Jonathan Demme is a huge fan, putting their songs in his films and even giving them cameos as the prom band in Something Wild.

Glenn Mercer one of the chief songwriters, singer and guitar player from the band has just released a fantastic solo album, Wheels in Motion, that takes me right back without sounding like a retread. Even better, other Feelies make appearances on the record. Really, it's great, but don't just take my word.

Today on the veg - horse racing carnage

The Douchebag has become a cinematic archetype that is right up there with The Hero or The Villain. Over at Your Mom's Basement there's a great list of the top 10 Movie douchebags.

In 2003, Mark Vidler, aka Go Home Productions, created one of my favorite all-time mash-ups, Ray of Gob. Who would have thought the Sex Pistols and Madonna could be such a beautiful marriage?

Mark has recently made the entire Pistol Whipped EP of Mash-Ups available on his website, so get get it while you can.

The Wall Street Journal has a chart of presidential approval ratings since 1946. I was struck by how all of them (with one exception) ended their terms with lower ratings than they began. Then I thought duh. That’s why most of them ended their terms. But wait, the ONE president that gained approval over his years in office is also the ONE who was impeached! It just goes to show how ridiculous and wasteful it is to bring perjury charges against someone for publicly lying about an extramaital affair.
