Aw man! My favorite author.

I had the pleasure of seeing Mr. Vonnegut speak at the Straford Festival when I was in high school. I sat behind Robertson Davies. Vonnegut had a chalkboard and drew a graph with time across the bottom and "good to bad events" on the side... then proceeded to show us how the classic stories of literature would have their plots represented. I watched him draw jumping graphs for Cinderella and Metamorphosis and then he proved that Hamlet, which he said could be argued as the greatest story ever written, was represented by a straight line.

Amazing. He will be missed.
