A Concert for Life Lives

Tonight's Idol Gives Back had me all nostalgic. A Concert for Life, the Freddie Mercury Tribute/AIDS Awareness rally held at London's Wembley Stadium, was held fifteen years ago this week. I'm not sure how much this event moved the needle on AIDS awareness. But let's take a look back anyway, just for kicks.

Paul Young & Queen, "Radio Ga Ga"

Roger Daltrey, Tony Iommi & Queen, "I Want it All"

Metallica, "Nothing Else Matters"

James Hetfield, Tony Iommi & Queen, "Stone Cold Crazy"

Elton John, Axl Rose & Queen, "Bohemian Rhapsody"

Axl Rose & Queen, "We Will Rock You"

Liza leads "We Are The Champions"

Extreme, "Love of My Life"

U2 (remotely), "Until the End of the World"

By popular demand, George Michael & Queen, "Somebody to Love"

And by less popular demand, Def Leppard & Queen

George Michael has now been added. Def Leppard, too.

Well, I mean, how could you miss good ole George? It's gotta be the most memorable performance of the evening, if not the best overall.
