This series has been an eye-opener for me, in more ways than one. I had no clue that guys had their favorite porn stars, and would want to find out what happened to them. I am still working my way through the comments! Here’s another dozen.
Lisa De Leeuw (Lisa Trego) appeared in almost 200 films during her career that began in 1978. In 1987, she stopped filming to concentrate on exotic dancing and making speaking appearances. De Leeuw was diagnosed with the AIDS virus in 1991, and withdrew from the public eye. She died on November 11, 1993 from AIDS complications. Since she had worked with John Holmes, some though she had contracted the disease from him. However, her last public contact with Holmes was in 1981, and he is believed to have contracted the AIDS virus in the mid-80s.
Chessie Moore (Robin Lynn Morgan) left her job as a liscenced practical nurse to perform in adult films in 1989. She’s had at least two breast augmentations. Besides her enormous breasts, she is known for her abilities as a contortionist. Despite her continuing career, she has been married for over twenty years and is the mother of six children. She and her husband live in Caneyville, Kentucky. Moore has a website and a phone sex business. She also makes made-to-order private videos for a price, performing any act the customer suggests. Visit Chessie Moore’s MySpace page.
Peter North is well-known in porn circles for his large production aid and his voluminous ejaculate. He has appeared in over 1600 movies since he began in gay porn in 1982. He has also produced and directed quite a few. He is still quite active in the industry, and has a website.
Ashlyn Gere (Kim McKamy) had several small parts in Hollywood B movies in the 80s, and worked as a body double in Basic Instinct and Indecent Proposal. She was also in the TV series Space: Above and Beyond during the 1995-96 season, and in episodes of Silk Stalkings and Millennium, using the name Kimberly Patton. She used the name Kimberly Ashlyn Gere for an appearance on The X-Files. Meanwhile, as Ashlyn Gere she performed in over 100 adult movies from 1990 to 2004. She also wrote four of the films, produced one, and directed another. She has been married to producer/director Marshall Patton (Layne Parker). Gere is now a real estate sales agent in Texas. She has a website, which hasn’t been updated since she moved from Las Vegas.
Honey Wilder appeared in over 90 films between 1981 and her retirementin 1988. She often played an older woman seducing younger men, although I can’t find her date of birth anywhere. She now works in set decoration and production design for mainstream film and television productions.
Dorothy LeMay made adult films for only five years, from 1976 to 1981, although several films were released years later. She is most famous for appearing in Taboo and Taboo II. She left the porn business to work for a messenger service, reportedly fleeing a broken heart after breaking up with a boyfriend.
Taija Rae made adult films from 1983 to 1993. At the beginning of her career, she filmed in New York and appeared as a rounded woman with dark hair. In 1986, she moved to California, lost weight, and dyed her hair blonde. After she left the industry, she made a living by prostitution, and was last reported to be working as a restaurant hostess in las Vegas.
Annette Haven worked as a nurse’s aide, exotic dancer, and massage parlor girl before going into adult films in 1973. She made over 100 adult films, and also appeared in Blake Edward’s film 10, portraying a porn actress. She barely lost the lead role in Body Double to Melanie Griffith, then became a consultant on the film. She retired in 1989, but has since resurfaced to appear in a couple of fetish films. Now 52, Haven lives in Mill Valley, California with her husband.
Erica Boyer was an exotic dancer from Alabama til Marilyn Chambers discovered her and convinced her to do adult films in 1979. She preferred to do lesbian scenes. When she retired from filming in the late 90s, she continued to do occasional strip shows. She is now a liscenced massage therapist in Dallas. Boyer has also made a name for herself reading Tarot cards.
Careena Collins worked in adult films from 1985 to 1987, then again from 1994-2004. In between, she went to law school (graduating at the top of her class) and served on the Free Speech Coalition’s Board of Directors. Collins edits a sex magazine, UnReal People and writes a monthly column.
Update: Sorry, guys, for originally posting a picture of Cara Lott in this space. It's extremely difficult to find a photo of Careena Collins without buying a DVD. I hope I've got her right now. Thanks for the heads up!
Amber Lynn was one of “the Three Lynns” along with Ginger Lynn and Porsche Lynn. She introduced her brother Buck Adams to the porn industry, but kept their relationship a secret until they were scheduled to do a scene together. She began filming adult movies in 1983, and has retired twice, but always returned to the business, in need of money. In 1999 she confronted her alcoholism and drug addiction, and became clean by 2000. She has filmed 320 movies, and is still active in the business.
Buck Adams entered the porn business in 1984 on encouragement from his little sister Amber Lynn. He performed in 272 movies, wrote seven and directed 62. A series of heart attacks in 1996 didn’t slow his pace of about a dozen movies a year, at least until around 2000. He has been married to porn actresses Janet Littledove and Aspen Brock. His last movie is listed as 2005.
