A Tribute to Larry "Bud" Melman

Melman.gif
Calvert DeForest also known as Larry “Bud” Melman passed away Monday at the age of 85. He introduced Dave Letterman on the very first Late Night show, and made made appearances until his retirement in 2002. DeForest also appeared in quite a few movies, TV shows, and music videos. He had requested that no funeral services be held.

That doesn’t stop us from paying tribute. Here are a few of his finer moments.

Introducing Dave on the first Late Night Show

In a Bear Suit

Hot Towels at the Bus Station

Johnny Carson

Viewer Mail from 1991

At the Race Track

He also appeared in the video for Kings of Rock by Run/DMC.

Rest in Peace.
