The Most Awkward Boy in the World

Nick Paley of Cutman Films has a video series about The Most Awkward Boy in the World. They are short, surreal, and straight to the point. As a set, they illustrate the horrible inner feelings of most adolescents to a T. You can laugh at their bizarreness, or maybe cringe as you remember those days. This one is The Most Awkward Boy in the World Goes to the Doctor. Others find him riding an elevator, hailing a taxi, and ordering a pizza, among others. You can find the whole series on YouTube.

Stardust Implosion

Following up on my recent post about the demolition of the famed Stardust Hotel in Las Vegas, here is a very cool video of the implosion, featuring fireworks, a laser countdown, and a spectacular implosion.

Yes it's real. Real enough to get a parking ticket.

Check out the invisible car.

Jellyfish Shooter

The Jellyfish Shooter! - The best video clips are right here

This drink is basically a Rattlesnake, which I am oh-so-familiar with (especially during Christmas), with an artistic touch added. Tasty and sweet, but just like a rattlesnake, a jellyfish can leave a mark you will feel tomorrow.

A shout out to MashUpTV, which I've embedded here on the page below (click the link) - supposedly the largest collection of mashup videos ever collected. Notably cool because they've included my own video for "No Takes Your Freedom".

Cheney vs. Vader

DarthCheney.png
Who would win in a battle between Dick Cheney and Darth Vader? I’d have to go with Vader, because Cheney may be losing his clout. I've seen that phrase so much, I have an urge to look under the couch cushions for it. Jon Stewart has the case of the missing clout. Although there is some evidence that Cheney and Vader are actually the same person, I believe he is a Sith Lord of a different name.

The YesBut Interview: The Mind Behind The Beer Launcher

Robotic Beer Launching Refrigerator - More amazing videos are a click away

We're talking today with the rarest of internet phenomena -- someone who's gone viral without sacrificing his dignity. John Cornwell became pseudo-famous last week without singing obscure Moldovan pop songs or running head-first through a fence or using archaic racial slurs.

His Beer Launcher has been featured everywhere, from MetaCafe to Wikipedia to Core77. And he now follows the trail blazed by such legends as K.C. Armstrong and the Naked Cowboy -- sitting down with YesButNoButYes.

YesButNo:
You don't just wake up one morning and invent the Beer Launcher. I'm sure you were dreaming up crazy stuff throughout your childhood. What else have you done?

John Cornwell: Well, I started at an early age creating “Rube Goldberg” type machines. I loved investigating how different objects interacted and I think this has translated directly into engineering skill and intuition now. I guess the second coolest device I have made is a tennis ball launcher (pneumatic potato cannon), that launches tennis balls at around 500 mph.

Happy Hump Day

I'd seen this a while ago - a dog that plugs into your USB port and - err - humps the computer. But it was a pretty useless novelty. However, some guy has now hacked the thing, installed some storage space, and made it into a thumbdrive. The funniest thing is that it now ONLY humps when data is being transferred.

Wednesday is New Comics Day

wed031407_header.jpg

Bear loves robot.
The perfect weapon: A cat.
The secret history of Abe Sapien.
Hiroshima, ten years later.
And Buffy is back.

Every Wednesday we run down the 5 most interesting comics and graphic novels that come out this week. These are the 5 books I'd be buying myself but I'm still pretty rattled from losing both Kara Thrace and Captain America in one week so I think it's probably best to stay away from escapist fantasy this week until I'm fully recovered.

404 Error

Whoops! We're not sure if it was your fault or ours (probably yours, we're good that way) but you've encountered a FATAL ERROR!!! Or at least, a pretty grumpy one.

Specifically the Latvians who run our server are telling us in a weird accent "Smarty error: [in evaluated template line 5]: syntax error: unrecognized tag 'mtfeed' (Smarty_Compiler.class.php, line 580), Comrade!". Ain't life a bitch.

If you want to vent, email our slacker of a webmaster. Otherwise, we'd suggest going back, using search, or clicking around aimlessly on this page like a moron.

Have fun.
