Imagine a cross between Heroes & The Office and that's what you get with Citizen Hero, a pitch perfect web comedy with great performances and really excellent writing. Another mega webfind from our friends at Transbuddha.

My Wacky Wife

Lot's of silliness going on at the Razen household lately.

My wife keeps getting liquored up off this weird stuff she got from a friend who went to Easter Island.

Then she bought me this crazy expensive chair off the interweb and the first thing she does is let the dog sit on it.

Finally she can't decide if it's good taste or not to give a baby a tattoo.

Feel free to visit the insanity that is my life on my wife's blog. Don't say I didn't warn ya.

It looks bad.

In case you’ve been under a rock, the Washington Post published a devastating report on the conditions our veterans deal with at Walter Reed Hospital. After the story broke, the military responded by clamping down on patients talking to the press. The administration responded by firing the hospital commander. And blaming the Defense Department.

Think Progress charted TV news networks to see how they covered the Walter Reed story vs. the Anna Nicole Smith story one one day (March 2). CNN had somewhat more references to Walter Reed. MSNBC had somewhat more references to Anna Nichole Smith. Fox News had 121 references to Smith and TEN to the Walter Reed story!

Jon Stewart had a concise and devastating take on the scandal. It probably won’t be his last word on the subject.

Pro-Age Dove

The Dove Campaign for Real Beauty has belatedly addressed the age issue. But the nudity in the ads drove The American Family Association to call for a boycott.

My problem with this campaign from the beginning is how polarizing it is. When Dove first unveiled the Real Beauty campaign, the reaction was split by gender. Women said “Those models aren’t real! They are too young and too skinny!” Men said “Those women are too fat! I don’t want to see that!” All of which just plunged women deeper into the self-esteem black hole they were already in.

There’s also the dichotomy of motive. On the one hand, we can applaud Dove for bringing a somewhat more realistic face to advertising, yet at the same time, if we were really beautiful we wouldn’t need to buy their cellulite cream. Now that attractive older women are included in the campaign, we women of a certain age are hearing about how no one should have to look at such things. Thanks a lot.

Sex Station 7

200703070917
Forget those lame Hot Coffee mods for Grand Theft Auto. say goodbye to the virtual strippers from Second Life. There's a new game in town. Sex Station 7 is described as a first-person sex shooter, which I think is a pretty apt description of most of the guys who'll be playing this - first-person sex shooters.

You play as Dylan Owens, whose mission is to save the "alpha female engineering cyberwhores" of Sex Station 7. No word on whether they wear adult diapers to prevent emergency stoppage on long drives.

Wednesday is New Comics Day

wed030707_header.gif

Tony Stark's Marvel Universe.
Jeffrey Brown's Awesome Jesus.
Jason's zombie apocalypse.
Mitchell Hundred's drug laws.
Frank Cho's busty Avengers.

Every Wednesday we run down the 5 most interesting comics and graphic novels that come out this week. These are the 5 books I'd be buying myself but I need to get a second job if I want to be able to afford 5 comics a week.
