Dear everyone who's offended, MasterFoods LOVES that you're offended. Go ahead and KEEP being offended, and watch as sales to teens and twenty-somethings (straight OR gay) SKYROCKET. Or, you can just ignore it, or lighten the frig up.
PS: Marvin Harrison's reaction is priceless...umm-um-umm-um.
And now the Bears...
And here's the Love Boat version they mentioned

Would you say the same thing if they were saying a Black man kissing a White woman was weird or hard to watch? Bigotry should be exposed and denounced that tolerated. Even if it gets Snickers more sales or attention, it is important to take a stand against bigotry all the time. They will definitely be more careful the next time after this backlash.
There is nothing funny about bigotry or homophobia, which is why these guys ostensibly felt the "need" to do something "manly" after kissing each other. Moreover, just because some people immaturely and insensitively think men kissing is gross does not mean we have to capitulate to their primitive prejudices. Bisexual and gay men should be themselves and live to the very same standards of heterosexuals, who routinely kiss in public. Further, the ads on the Snickers website and commentary of the football players were even more offensively homophobic. In a society where gays are persecuted and killed for their love, it is neither appropriate or funny to sponsor homophobia.
But what I'm saying is that they anticipated the backlash. They wouldn't do it again because then it would become see-through, but the current backlash, with the millions in airtime they're getting...all part of the plan.
Also, what if it were the queer eye guys not being able to watch a straight couple kiss. (which I would laugh at as well) What exactly am I allowed to watch?
I understand why gay people would be offended. (Not to mention people of any sexual persuasion who hate lame ads.) But please, somebody 'splain to me how this ad "promotes violence"? Oh wait. They meant "violence against the TVs of people forced to watch this ad."
