While watching The McLaughlin Group yesterday, I had a thought. It would be fun to look back on all the crazy end-of-show predictions. I would set out to create such an archive.

But a quick Google search revealed Dan J. Berger had the same idea a long time ago. Thanks, Sir Berger, for your service to the blogosphere. And for saving me a lot of time.

As you surf the net on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, you'll see many video tributes to King. I posted some of them myself. Something you probably won't see anywhere else is this 1985 collaboration by dozens of musical artists to protest apartheid in South Africa. You can read the story of Steven Van Zandt's project Sun City at Wikipedia. The song never got much airplay due to the mixing of genres and the criticism of President Reagan's policies, but it was a favorite of mine. I haven't heard the song since my turntable disappeared, and I had never seen the video til today. And its a much better song than We Are The World.
