A nice geek Christmas present for us all - AMC have announced they are remaking 60s TV show The Prisoner, so that a whole new generation can turn to each other and say "well, what the fuck was THAT all about". You know, kind of like Lost, but with big balloons instead of intelligent swarms.
Huh, now I think about it, Lost IS a remake of The Prisoner.

I always thought that would be interesting for someone to try. But if they jack it up, and make Number 6 all PC and stupid, they'll wind up as Number 2 (in more ways than one)! There's no way they could make something a mindbendingly cool as the original series, but if they can pull it off like the guys doing the new Doctor Who series, I might just go for it.
Remakes of classic shows are hard, especially if they have cult status. Remember when they tried with "Dark Shadows" in the early '90s? It lasted like, what, one season.
