Calling for Help

blackberry-8700-lg.jpg

I've got a dream and need your help.

I've decided I need a BlackBerry. This purchase will fundamentally shake up my world. I could be wired for some of my most inspired moments, like on aimless walks and in the bathroom. Imagine bitching about the commute during the commute.

My BlackBerry of choice is the 8703 (QWERTY is a must.) But there is one major hurdle to the dawn of my BlackBerry era: Sprint.

You've all heard these sob stories before. If I were a free agent, the device I covet would be free. Or at the most, $199. Since they already have my business, they have little incentive to deal. And my obsession is not worth $500 ("Wait six months and we'll give you $25 off!") It would be cheaper to end my contract, pay the $200 fee, and start fresh with a new carrier. But that sounds like a lot of work.

So before I give up on my dream, I wanted to ask the YesBut community -- is there anything I can do? Any secret word that might trigger the Sprint discount? Any wireless store looking for someone to review the product?

How can I help you help me?

Linerider - Urban Run

For those who have never played Linerider, this video won't mean much. But for those who have.... it's pretty mindblowing what they've accomplished here.

50 Greatest Cartoons

It'll continue to be a light blogging week for us, as I'll be focussing most of my energies on some site design changes and updates for the New Year. But I'll try to post some links that provide some extended entertainment when I can. Here's one that kept me entertained for a couple of hours - the 50 greatest cartoons that are all available for free online.

Apologies to the guy who complained recently that all we post lately is video clips, but some are too good to pass up.

Seinfeld - The Lost Episode

I caught this over at Aquaman's personal blog this morning, and figured it was good enough to share with everyone, because it made me laugh my ass off.

Stinkymeat

stinkymeat.jpg
The Stinkymeat Project site could be used as a diet aid. I know it put ME off leftovers for a few days! The things I do for your entertainment... Anyway, these guys put raw meat outside to see what would happen. There must be no animals in this neighborhood at all, because most of the meat hung around for 18 days in the first experiment. Photographic evidence and descriptions follow the meat each day. Read at your own peril, but afterwards you will have a renewed appreciation for dogs, vultures, and other carrion-eating wildlife.
