Today on the veg...acceptance speeches
Jack Palance wins Oscar (and does those famous push-ups)
Fiona Apple wins MTV award (and gets all preachy)
Michael Moore wins Oscar (and hears from the fans in the crowd)
ADAM Sandler wins MTV Movie Award (and talks like an 8yr old)
Halle Berry wins Razzie (and has a great sense of humor about it)
Adrian Brody wins Oscar (and plants one on Halle Berry)
Steve Carrell wins MTV Movie Award (and thanks Kelly Clarkson)
Susan Lucci wins Daytime Emmy (and puts 19 years of losing behind her)
Limp Bizkit wins VMA award (and RATM bass player climbs scaffold)
...and Jim Valvano wins Arthur Ashe ESPY award (and only has a few months to live)
One of the best acceptance speeches ever. Check out when he tells the director to f&%k off in Italian. (fanapoli!)

JIMMY V!!!! The man lived and died with grace and humor. I'll never forget that NC State Championship game. We love ya and miss ya, fanapoli!
Uh...great list...but you're missing you know...the Best Acceptance Speech Ever...which tends to hurt the overall list. Jim Carrey's VMA acceptance speech, in full costume and character as "Jim" a stoned-out hippie, asking for more "Foghat" and talking dirty to the ladies. Hands down...best ever. Find it or this list is useless.
Jack was genius. Man I wish more actors were like him - less self absorbed.
Speaking of self-absorbed, I think the years have exonerated Michael Moore's speech though his films remain TBD.
How the hell Jim Carrey isnt here?
his mtv awards speech when he was in character was brilliant..
where's Sally Field? You like me! You really like me!
Jim Carrey is a critical omission.
Just so you know...I did look for Sally Field's "you like me" moment, Brando when he had the Indian accept his Oscar, Ving Rhames when he gave his Emmy to Jack Lemon, Cuba Gooding when he did the flip, and David Niven with the streaker. All were nowhere to be found. Leaving Carrey off was a mistake, though. Sorry about that.
Jack Nicholson accepting best actor at the 2003 Critics' Choice Awards is the best speech ever, and I've never seen it after the initial broadcast (Thank you, TIVO!) Let's just say this: He opens with "I don't usually get this baked when it's going to be on television." And Robin Williams has to come help him because he's so wasted. Best thing I ever saw on TV ever. Find it.
How about Roberto Benigni accepting the Oscar for Life Is Beautiful? The man was a basketcase!! And I am in total agreement on the Jim Carrey @ the 1999 MTV Movie Awards thing..."There's some fine looking pu**y in this room tonight, I'll tell you what..."
