Especially when I read things like this.
The line between great comedian and obnoxious asshole is really getting blurry for me. Then again, I always thought Andy Kaufman was kind of a jerk. (pretty sure I'm in the uber-minority on that one)

My favorite comment: "If I were your friend I would grow a moustache and move to Mexico. Although, if I were your friend I would also hate Mexicans. So he's sort of in a bind there."
Fascinating how the responses (starting back in October) are like "Don't worry about it, no one will remember this movie" and then when the movie comes out they become "Wow, your friend is fucked."
The thing is, if you're going to give these guys leeway because the producers liquored them up first then you'd have to give Mel Gibson leeway for the things the alcohol supposedly made him say.
Yeah, but no one was trying to get Mel to sign anything while he was hammered.
My impression was they signed the release statements before getting hammered. That's what they're claiming I believe. It will be interesting to see how their case goes and if anyone else tries to sue but I don't imagine they'll have much luck.
that's great. those frat boys are screwed.
There's 2 of the frat boys suing, a third one refused to join into the lawsuit saying he got what he was offered (100 bucks and free drinks) and says he's fine with it.
Not so sure why you are excited with every punch. The guy is hilarious. He was funny 6 years ago in London and is even funnier now that he is exposing racists, bigots and hypocrites that hide is this country. With all the liberal cheerleading that goes into your posts on this website I figured you'd be applauding Cohen, regardless of whether or not you think he is funny.
Chris, there are plenty of hypocrites on both sides. (I'm definitely one of them from time to time) And exposing them is great, and extemely commendable. But when you start doing it for tens of millions of dollars, and the people you're exposing didn't do anything to deserve it (like an entire Eastern European country, or three college kids). I have a hard time understanding how that's different from anything that idiot on punk'd did. (that's just my opinion)
I also thought Andy Kaufman was a jerk. Sure, I laughed at him, but I wouldn't have wanted him in my circle.
The only argument the frat guys have is if they were indeed asked to sign releases after the drinks. They are still responsible for what they said. I don't know anyone who says positive things about slavery just because they've had some alcohol.
