Not quite sure what to call this, but it hardly matters. Take Eric Prydz's cult video Call on me, call back a couple of the dancers, and throw in a healthy dose of Flashdance, and this is what you get? I'm not even sure if you can classify this safe for work or not - no nudity, but the thought is there. But Monday's can always do with a boost. (t/y Fleshbot)
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Except when it's not.
In this case, the imitation calls into question every last point made by the original. The spoof, created by the Diamonds for Africa Fund, is very well done.
I haven't read about this elsewhere, which makes me worry for two reasons. First, the diamond people and/or rebels may be destroying sites that mention realdiamondfacts.org. And second, now that I've said I haven't seen this before, fifty angry bloggers will be sending me their links and threatening to chop off my hands and/or lips. Either way, it doesn't end well.

Today on the veg...The doors closed last night, at CBGB.

Most people are familiar with Michael Jackson's groundbreaking video for the song Thriller. Lately, we've also seen the video in different forms, such as the Thriller in Legos, Thriller in Second Life, and the Bollywood style (although its a different song). But nothing beats a live public recreation! Every October, Mecca Dance Studio and Gallery stages a resurrection of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" video in the streets of downtown Lexington, Kentucky. See a video of last year's performance here, and a Flickr photoset here.
This year's event is set for October 22nd. Participation is free and open to the public. However, they would like you attend the rehearsals.
If you needed more indication that Second Life is the next big thing, check out Reuters' dedicated SL news area, including financial information for the in-world currency. This also links in with a Reuters Island inworld, and a device you can wear while playing that will give you the latest headlines.

Wonder if Bentley actually ran it.

- Holy crap, have you seen the trailer for Grindhouse? It looks amazing. (hope it's not taken down)
- Chad Vader has returned. He lights cigarettes with his light saber, but don't ask him to catch a dog.
- Just sit back and enjoy this very cool video. A drawing of a woman (yawn), from the inside out (whoa).
- Once in a while (or every day) I'll list a really dumb one. Here's one now, a shrimp jogging on a treadmill.
- And from 60 minutes, it looks like the Duke lacrosse players are innocent, and the prosecutor is guilty.
