2,996 innocent victims died in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. Over 3,400 bloggers are participating in the 2,996 project, with each blogger honoring one victim’s life. You can read about all kinds of people who died that day, from a fireman saving lives to a 4-year-old on her first trip to Disneyland. You’ll find a list of participants and links here. Bring your hankies.
update: The 2,996 site has crashed the server. An alternate list of tributes is available at The Blogging Times.

If you could send an e-mail to yourself, or anyone else, as much as 50 years in the future, what would you say?

- Of course I was on the juice. Heads just don't grow that big by themselves.
- Yes, there were explosives in Tower 7. How did you think it came down?
The 2067 Project seems cool, but you might want to start small. Maybe send yourself an e-mail on Thursday as a reminder to pick up the dry cleaning.

You wouldn't think a tree chimney could be beautiful, but obviously that's not the case.

No better way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Art or not, it was definitely pretty cool.

- From heroes to zeroes...that's what the rescue workers feel like these days, as reported on last night's 60 minutes.
- According to the NY Post, Harvey Keitel had problems with Path to 9/11 script from the beginning. (I watched the Giants)
- Cheney on Meet the Press...It was the right thing to do and if we had it to do over again, we'd do exactly the same thing.
- Tribute in Light starts tonight at sundown. According to Wikipedia, several people are credited with the original idea.
- And on Jon Stewart's first broadcast following 9/11, he reflects on Martin Luther King and the altered New York skyline.
