I heard last night that Bruno Kirby passed away this past Monday of Leukemia, at the very young age of 57. What do you say about an actor who's been amazing in Good Morning Vietnam, When Harry Met Sally, The Freshman, Sleepers, Donnie Brasco and Godfather II? Entertainment Weekly wrote a nice piece on an actor who was always content to play a supporting role (and the comments are cool, too). Mr. Kirby's passing is a real shame, and he will be missed.
On a related note, if you want to see some of the most tasteless journalism ever, watch this clip of a reporter breaking the news in hopes of getting some surprised reactions. It was an unfortunate choice of tactics.

He was an actor, not acter.
