The rest of the story at 100 Acre Deadwood
Last week Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide announced plans to debut their latest chain - aloft - in Second Life. So I have a question for any Second Lifers who might be reading - what other companies are buying real ads in the virtual world? Any good (or terrible) examples?
I personally think the aloft idea is pretty great and worthy of buzz. I would never have checked out a straightforward site (for example, 'starwood.com/aloft') to "watch the construction progress." And I barely know what Second Life is.
But Virtual Aloft has earned a place in my Bloglines.
The obvious question: when does Virtual Jellio start construction?

I've mentioned the Chelsea Handler show before, but watching this clip on one night stands, and constantly saying things like whoa and holy shit (rhodes scholar that I am)...I knew I needed to post a link. This girl is hard-core. And actually, I think I may be in love. Chelsea, you had me at cavernous hole.
(takes a while to load, but well worth it)

- The Daily Show clip, Desperate Soundbites is worth watching for the naked Bush image, alone.
- By the end of the week, geeks across the entire country will have this framed and up on their wall
- The gang at Improv Everywhere has struck again. Only this time out, they did it in slow motion.
- If he couldn't tell Wendy Hutchins from Captain Janks, Wolf Blitzer may need a new hearing aid.
- And someone in Utah has an amazing sense of humor. Although, their neighbors don't really agree.
