I have 2 translation issues I'm seeking clarification on. Both are British to U.S. English.
1. Why is does fanny mean "ass" here and "vagina" in the U.K.?
2. What does "effin and jeffin" mean.
(I am posting from my treao so, no ass and vagina pics.)

Here's a bigger conundrum - the Brits call a vagina a fanny, the Yanks call the ass a fanny.
Yet the Brits call a Fanny Pack by the moniker "a Bum Bag". It am bizarro.
thats what my email points out. I used the term "fanny pack" in the UK while I was living there. The expression on my lovers face was priceless.
Try being a Yank named Randy visiting the UK! Those are some funny stories! What time do want to be knocked up? Would you like a banger in the morning?
Yeah, that's great. Someone please explain to me what the hell "Bob's your uncle" means? I have a running bet with some friends.
alright?
'effin' means using the word 'fuck' or a derivative, i.e f-ing. 'jeffin' doesn't mean anything obvious, but might relate to another word. more likely it just sounds good with 'effin'. my baldy manc parents always said 'effin and blindin' instead, but both phrases describe someone who's swearing
At one point everyone had an uncle called 'Bob', mainly because (here in the UK anyway) many people are called uncle when they are in fact not.
Saying 'Bob's your uncle' was to state that the chances of said item being correct/completed was 100%.
Wow, that's more difficult to explain than I thought.
The most plausible theory for the origin of "Bob's your uncle" refers to a case of nepotism wherein Lord Salisbury (Robert, or "Bob") appointed his nephew to the post of Chief Secretary for Ireland (1887).
Conversely, the phrase I've had the most trouble with over here is when I used the phrase "I guess we'll just have to suck it and see" in a client meeting. Could have heard a pin drop.
The meaing of Bob's your uncle according to Wikipedia: In the UK, the popular expression "And Bob's your uncle" originated when Robert Cecil, Marquess of Salisbury, the Prime Minister, appointed his nephew, Arthur Balfour, to a prestigious position. The phrase was originally a sarcastic jibe at nepotism, but today simply means "no problem" or "everything is done", as in: "insert the plug, press the switch, and Bob's your uncle."

fanny pack = fag bag
Don't even get us started on the transatlantic differences in the entymology of "Fag".
"Effin and jeffin" does mean swearing. The first time I ever heard it being used was by a Karl Pilkington on XFM (a uk radio station) and more recently he has been on The Ricky Gervais Show podcasts. He is also one of the funniest people I have ever heard.
Incidently "Bob's your uncle" Can be lengthened to "Bob's your uncle and Fanny's your aunt"
