But what about the children.

deniability_b.jpg thetruth_b.jpg shock_b.jpg

Funny what people get all worked up about. Take a controversial new photography exhibit, for example. In End Times, Jill Greenberg is trying to convey how upset children would be if they knew what type of world they were inheriting. Easy enough concept to grasp (which I like in my art) albeit a bit simplistic, but the images are pretty striking. What did she do to get this type of response from the children? She took away a lollipop for a few minutes. After the shots were taken she gave it back, and the little darlings were fine.

What's interesting is the 14,000 e-mails the gallery has received, and dozens of blog entries, calling Greenberg sick and a child abuser, and recommeding she be arrested. Guess the work definitely struck a chord with the public, just not the one she was hoping for. Apparently, the lollipop thing is also the method employed when you need to get a toddler to cry on screen, but this time it was just a little too in your face.

What next for Ms. Greenberg? She's trying the same thing, only with monkeys. Might be a little safer subject. And the 14,000 e-mailers? I give it a week before they find out about Wonder Showzen.

787 Pieces of Clip Art in a Loop

Worth watching a couple of times through because it is hypnotic but who colors those things anyway? Gross.

Warning...this is really harsh.

WorldTradeVideo.jpg

I was checking out YouTube's most viewed videos section last night, and I came across this. It's the audio of a 911 call from 2 World Trade as the tower comes down. Believe me when I say I was sick to my stomach for about an hour after watching.

I definiteley WASN'T going to post the link, but then I started watching some of the other videos that came up relating to September 11th. You know I've talked about this before, and I have my doubts about the conspiracy theories, but the one item that I always come back to is what caused 7 World Trade to come down? Well, check out this video. Apparently, Larry Silverstein (the man who purchased the WTC lease in July of 2001) gave an interview for a PBS special called "America Rebuilds". On it, he says the following:

"And I said, you know we've had such a terrible loss of life, maybe the smartest thing to do is just pull it"

Pull is industry terminology for a controlled demolition, something that could not have been executed on a single day, it takes weeks. According to Wikipedia, reps for Mr. Silverstein have since stated that by pull "it", he was referring to the firefighters in the building, which is ridiculous. You don't say "it" if you're talking about several people.

This morning, the 911 call video is the most viewed clip on YouTube, so it's already getting around. It will be upsetting to many people, but maybe it will lead alot of people to ask questions. Because if's there's even the SLIGHTEST chance that our own govennment caused what's on that audio clip, then we don't have the slightest clue what country we're really living in.

ArrestedOnG4.jpg

- I don't know about you, but I love a good old Friar's Roast. Watch as Steven Colbert obliterates Chevy Chase.
- Andy Roddick has brought in Jimbo to revive his career? Good thing he still has Amex spots. This is pretty good.
- Via BoingBoing, vintage Carson showing a psychic fall apart as he realizes someone's messed with his trick props.
- John Stossel interviews a wrestler and gets his ass kicked. I would've punched the guy...right before he killed me.
- And for all the Arrested Development fans, soon you can catch the show on G4. No details on what G4 is, though.
