Hernandez on Sunday

200604231102
So, anyone who's read the Sunday Times Magazine this weekend (or looked at the online pdf now available) will now have met Maggie, one of the greatest female comics characters ever created. I hope this wins the Hernandez Brothers a lot more fans, as I just love their work. Here's an interview they did for Salon magazine back in 2001 that gives an insight into their passion.

I met both Jaime and Gilbert at a NY comic convention, and they were both very friendly and approachable. And I bought a beautiful sketch of Maggie which you can see here.

It's actually a little weird to see his work in color. I'm looking forward to seeing the brothers at the Heroes Con in Charlotte this summer. Currently halfway through Gilbert's Palomar hardcover and am loving it.
