I've spent the weekend playing The Godfather on XBox. It's an excellent game, with a tool that lets you change the main character's face to look exactly like yourself. It makes the whole thing a very surreal experience, as you watch yourself interact with all the cast from the movie.
While The Godfather is obviously a natural choice to base a game on, another announced this morning is making me go “what they huh?” - because coming soon to your Playstation... Desperate Housewives, the video game. The idea of having a virtual Teri Hatcher at my command is an intriguing one, I must admit.
Now a Sopranos game? That I would love.

If you've ever been a fan of Outsider Art, you've probably heard of Henry Darger. Mr Darger was a reclusive janitor from Chicago who wrote and illustrated a 15,000 page fantasy on the Vivian Girls, a group of ass-kicking sisters who lead an army in rebellion against a regime of child slavery. Mr. Darger's fame came about mostly after his death, though, as the entire collection of writings and illustrations were found right before he died.
In the Realms of the Unreal is a 2004 animated documentary based on his life. Check out the trailer...pretty amazing stuff for someone who basically kept to himself his whole life.

Finally got around to reading the New York Magazine article on the growing numbers of 911 conspiracy theorists. Those that know me know it doesn't take much to send me into Zapruder territory, but even I've had a hard time believing our own gov't. had anything to do with it. (more of a competence thing then anything else, really.)
If you have some time, read the article, or take a look around the 911 conspiracy postings on Google. One of the most amazing videos I saw (which I can't find now...damn) was a group of firemen talking about the series of explosions they saw going down the side of one of the towers, right before it fell.

Did you know how many people there are that take their computers and turn them into...um...whatever. Me neither, but here they all are. (Mystery Machine's my favorite, but the manga chick is growing on me)

In 1983, Adidas introduced Adicolor, all-white footwear packaged with a set of quick drying magic markers.
Well, if Welcome Back Kotter can get a second chance, why not these.

Greetings, I'm Dr. Samantha Grey and this is the procedure film for station 5 of the Dharma Initiative.

- No matter who you are, one thing we can all agree on...James Lipton shotgunning a beer is funny.
- A half dozen pacemakers and no blue M&M's...Check out Dick Cheney's hotel rider.
- You know you've been waiting for "it rubs the lotion on it's skin" to be put to music.
- And if you're wearing a llama costume, and you get jumped by a male llama, does that make you gay?
