Top Five on Tuesday - Warm & Fuzzy Edition

Just so the home page has a few more shades of red on it.
- If you live in NYC, stop by KidRobot and pick up something a little more unique than a bear with chocolates.
- I know it's too late to get him this t-shirt...don't care, it's too good. (google "Herb Albert" if you don't know)
- Bought a few of these hand warmers (non-heart version) as Christmas gifts. They REALLY work well.
- This played on the flight back from Vegas. I wasn't into watching it at all, but it turned out to be really good. She'd love it.
- And finally, for the broke mother f-ers out there...the old standby...the acme heartmaker.

Out of the 5 you chose to display on this most disgusting of days, 4 of them make me want to pull out my eyes with a needlenose pliers, letting the blood flow down my cheeks in esctasy as I would never have to see it again.
By the way, for anyone old like me who remembers, it's Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass, not just Herb Albert, as the website erroniously put together. Funny enough, that wonderful 'Mexican sound' he had on his albums was recreated in the studio by either all Jewish or Black session musicians after stealing the sound from local Mariachi bands in Mexico.
It's also "funny" that he hired Bill Dana, a Jewish comedian, to open for him when he went to tour around America back in the late 60's. Why Bill? He did a wonderful Spic act onstage, pretending to be "Jose Jimenez," a stupid migrant worker.
I love this country.
I still don't like the items, but this one REALLY irks me.
Happy fucking Valentine's Day.

What time did you want to get together when you're in town?

p.s. - all of this is verifiable on Wikipedia. I should know, I wrote a lot of it.
p.p.s. - A&M Records (Alpert's label he co-created due to the success of the Tijuana Brass), was responsible for signing or producing: The Carpenters, Bryan Adams, Procol Harum, Supertramp, Peter Frampton, Free, the Police, Joe Jackson, the Neville Brothers, Captain Beefheart, John Haitt, The Flying Burrito Brothers, and the Immortal Cat Stevens.
You can thank a Mexican today for this music. How? Go into your favorite Mexican resteruant and tell the dishwasher in the back you'll take over for a while, humming "They long to be, cloooose to yoooooooooooooo..."
Nice!
