This is Ed Evangelista, a friend and colleague here at the company where I work. He's just been selected as one of four onscreen judges for a new TV show created by Simon Cowell and the producers of American Idol, American Inventor.
American Inventor is a reality show that will undertake a nationwide search for America's best new invention. Prospective contestants can enter a sketch, prototype or concept, and the judges will select a shortlist of the best, to whom $50k will be awarded to develop, refine and test their idea for the cameras. America will then vote for the best one, and the winner will receive a million bucks in advance royalties from the distribution of the idea. Ed's a great choice for this role, as not only is he one of the best creative minds here, he's also a master at rebuilding classic sports cars from the ground up (and a comic art collector to boot).
The show airs in March on ABC and I wish Ed all the best - he's promised me he'll give us an exclusive interview once the show gets underway. In the course of my work, I've presented ideas to him before, and believe me, he's a very hard taskmaster who ALWAYS speaks his mind, so those inventor geeks are going to have their work cut out to impress him.

Will his catch phrase be: "how you doin', how you doin"?
