The backlash against Daniel Craig as the new Bond has already started, even though principal photography on the new movie has just gotten underway. CraigNotBond is home of the “Casino Royale Boycott”, which is urging fans to stay away from the movie to protest what they feel to be a bad choice for 007.
It seems to me like they're damning Craig's performance before they've even seen it - the script seems to hold promise, so I guess we'll see. However, full props to the riled fans for creating a hilarious “Separated at Birth?” section comparing pictures of craig with other, equally unsuitable actors.

I went to a science fiction convention the year before the first Batman movie with Michael Keaton came out. They announced the cast for the first time, and a riot almost broke out. (Feel free to visualize a large hotel ballroom full of angry, rioting sci-fi geeks for a moment.) I think it's safe to say that most people think Michael Keaton did a very good job in that role, and it illustrates the point that unless you've seen what the directors and producers have seen, you really can't prejudge how an actor will do in a movie until you see the final product. (Note that the exception to the above rule is Tom Hanks in The Da Vinci Code. That was a complete, utter shite job of miscasting, and he will ruin -- RUIN! -- that movie. Thank you.)
I was a little young for the whole Batman thing, but I agree, Michael Keaton is the second-best Batman (Christian Bale being the first IMHO).
I think anyone who has a problem with this casting choice should go watch "Layer Cake", and then promptly shut the fuck up.
I wonder who Greg thinks should have been cast in The Da Vinci Code..?
All I am seeing about the new James Bond has been positive. The reviews are great and Daniel Craig has gotten a lot of praise. You were taking a rish by prejudging the new Bond, and you screwed up. Now you made a fool of yourself and your main page is "under construction." I am sure it was a good ride until you realized that the movie will be a success. Too bad for you.
