Help Commuting Suicide and win free crap
0 Comments

You know what would make our semi-regular feature better? An appropriate logo. Or maybe just a type-treatment. Since I have trouble grasping even basic design concepts, I'm reaching out to the community.

Whip up your snazzy visual take on Commuting Suicide and e-mail a jpeg to yesbutnobutyes@gmail.com. The best design (as chosen by me) will win a YesButNoButYes t-shirt, and your work will run atop each Commuting Suicide entry. We'll give you a credit and, if you want, link to your portfolio site.

You can't buy this kind of exposure. But if you could, it would probably cost about $6.00. Please don't send $6.00. Just the logo.

I like how the FedEx logo forms an arrow between the 'E' and 'x.' I'm just saying.

British Mashup website served a C & D
0 Comments

Get Your Bootleg On is the place to find cool mashups.

This morning their hosting company got served a cease and desist from the BPI (the British version of the RIAA) for having a website that links to their music files.

Ya, you heard right. This is like giving Goggle a C & D cause they have a link to a violation.

Thankfully GYBO has found a workaround and is back up. In honor of their ingenuity here's a great track from one of their members.

Mr. Six Revealed

 Oldguy Danny Teeson250

At the height of the campaign for Six Flags, many internet sites were abuzz with the mystery - who was actually playing the character known Mr. Six? A spry octogenarian? A mime artist? A female dancer? Urkel?

Now, with the ad campaign finally in mothballs, the secret has been revealed - Danny Teeson, star of Bravo's Queer Eye for the Straight Girl.

The world gives a collective shrug, and moves on.

A great flash animation by Nick Worthey which won the Grand Prize in the Intel Indies Film Contest and was screened at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival.

Now this is what I call gay

A guide from 42 Below Vodka as to what is and is not f%$@ing gay (I'm quoting here, you understand). If only all advertising clients were as bold as this, I'd enjoy my job at the agency a WHOLE lot more. (Not really very safe for work, in case you didn't guess, but hell, it's a Friday)

Spamusement.com is, "Poorly-drawn cartoons inspired by actual spam subject lines." Very silly.

bushspeech has categorized various phrases used by The President in his addresses, and allows you to rearrange them into any order you wish, and play it back as a new video. Hours of fun.

Richard Branson clones

Splitting Image bills itself as the "celebrity lookalike agency" and has quite a vast stable of performers. Some great, some not so great.

Of course the question that quickly rises to my mind....does the world really need two Richard Branson lookalikes?
