Yes, and the 2006 re-tread of the 80s film "The Sword Of Gideon" is nominated for Best Picture.
Has Steven Speil-burg run out of ideas? Has one of the Top Jews In Hollywood really hit the wall? What's next, a remake of "Duel?" A sequel to "E.T." in which the alien breaks Drew Barrymore out of rehab - repeatedly???
What about Charlize Theron? Why Charlize Theron?
Oh, GAWD... this is sad.
However, I'm glad that "Walk the Line" didn't make the grade. Maybe the hillbillies will be mad, but those of us who saw it, saw it for what it was - a blatant attempt to jump on the recently buried coattails of Ray Charles.
I'm also VERY GLAD that Terrence Howard got nominated for best actor. I hope he gets it, I liked that movie.
I also like that Crash got the nod for best pic. One of my top 5 pix of the year for SURE.
Other than that, everything else was predicted, and the ones I do like will not get it because Terrence suffers from the "Giamatti jinx." He's a popular actor, and the apparent popular choice, just like Paul was. That's why HE WON'T WIN.
Why don't you guys put together a Oscar pool contest, and the winner gets a $50 gift certificate from me to any White Castle, nationwide?
