A Comic Book Panel

200601281555
Here's an interesting piece of work - an interview with two of the hottest contemporary comic book artists, Chris Ware and Seth, told in comic strip format.

And for those that haven't read it, Seth's Wimbledon Green is one of the best graphic novels I've read in months.

Creative Tax Prep

IRS.jpg

Yesterday I received my W-2. Looks like my employer didn't take out enough Federal Tax this year, which means I'm looking at a swift kick in the balls from the IRS.

Now, some people may say I should have done the math myself back in early '05. I would ask those people to stop commenting on my personal business.

So, here's my question. Lots of advertising folks write for or visit this site. What are you guys deducting? People tell me that everything from cable TV to high-speed internet to iTunes purchases can be categorized as non-reimbursed work expenses. Are they just lucky they haven't been audited?

One of my esteemed colleagues may have posted this earlier in the week. If that's the case, my apologies.

Some People VI

Back by popular demand. Real letters to People. Some winners today. No commentary necessary.

On Elton's Nuptials...
"It's sad to see the world allowing same-sex marriages. If allowed, why not polygamy and intrafamily marriages as well? I'm glad that in the United States marriage still holds ground as a true meaning of the word and is not eroded away."
Kiley
Bitter Creek, Wyoming

On Dieting...
"During my captivity as an Iraqi POW, I lost 15 lbs. Since my return home, I've regained the 15 plus 10 more. I started working out, but the holiday season put me in a slump, and I didn't know how to get going again. Fortunately, your issue really inspired me to do so. Hopefully I'll be able to send you a picture of me 40 lbs. lighter very soon."

Breakfast Links

SheWolfFinally.jpg

- After months of Arianna slamming their boy, NBC goes on the offensive with some dirt of their own.
- Heard of Geronimo Jackson? Great old 70's band that started at University of Michigan.
- After the Dangling Globes awards, Drew Barrymore and the twins made an appearance at SNL last weekend.
- An underwater hotel shaped like a dildo? What time does Real World get here?
- And heeere's Satan's goomah with another "What the fuck did she just say?" moment.

404 Error

Whoops! We're not sure if it was your fault or ours (probably yours, we're good that way) but you've encountered a FATAL ERROR!!! Or at least, a pretty grumpy one.

Specifically the Latvians who run our server are telling us in a weird accent "Smarty error: [in evaluated template line 6]: syntax error: unrecognized tag 'mtfeed' (Smarty_Compiler.class.php, line 580), Comrade!". Ain't life a bitch.

If you want to vent, email our slacker of a webmaster. Otherwise, we'd suggest going back, using search, or clicking around aimlessly on this page like a moron.

Have fun.
