We watched the finale of The Apprentice this evening. Over the last few weeks, in an attempt to add drama to an increasingly predictable show, The Donald had spiced things up occasionally, including firing a whole team one week. The final two candidates were actually top notch, and throughout the entire show we were convinced that this year, they would both win. And everything Trump said during the show played into that - two possible projects, each finalist favored a different one.
And then Randall- a caring, thoughtful, intelligent Rhodes schola, who was probably slightly the better of the two, won. Much celebration, but then The Donald stopped the proceedings to ask Randall “Do you think I should hire Rebecca too?”
Here it was, the moment we all expected, where both candidates could get their just desserts, and we'd all be winners.
And what did Randall say? “No, Mr Trump, there should be only one winner. It's the Apprentrice, not the Apprentii” (if there is such a word). So that's what happened.
Man, oh, man - what an asshole. And what an incredibly unsatisfying ending. If The Apprentice was dying, Randall just hammered the final nail into the coffin.

Yeah Randal really soured his own victory there. However, I almost can't blame him too much and Trump should not have offered that option. It was only Trump trying to be different like he did all season by firing multiple people at once but as he was hiring his first African American Apprentice he risked giving the appearance of not being able to give a black man the spotlight on his own by making him be the only Apprentice to have to share the win. He should have quietly hired Rebecca the next day or something and he probably still will.
I think that Randal is a very poor sport. How selfish of him. after all he does run a multi-million dollar business. He's an asshole in my book. And Donald might do the right thing and hire her anyway. Randal was just afraid that she might show him up when it comes to job performance.
