Urgent: We need your help

Ybnby

It's come to my attention that all browsers may not be displaying the site properly. It looks fine on my mac here, but I keep hearing rumors that the Right Hand column keeps disappearing, and ending up at the bottom of the page on the left hand side. Can anyone who reads this story post a quick note in the comments telling me the following three things:

1) What Operating System you are using (PC/Mac/Other)
2) What Browser you are using (Explorer/Firefox/AOL/Safari/Other)
3) Can you see the column on the right hand side?

I'm especially interested to hear from anyone who CAN'T see it or the layout you see looks really different, but even if you can see it exactly as above, PLEASE post a note. The images in the column may vary from page to page - I'm just interested if you can see anything there or if the whole page just ends with the main stories.

Much appreciated. And if there are any HTML code jockeys out there who can solve the problem, I'll throw in a free t shirt.

This week's SNatM is brought to you by our sister site, Podguide.TV - the guide to the best video content for your iPod. But if you haven't yet bought into the cult of Steve Jobs, that's ok, because they can all be watched on your computer too.

  • Channel Fredorator is now on it's third episode of animation shorts
  • 29fragiledays have a beautiful selection of eclectic mini-documentaries
  • Could Josh Leo be the next Morgan Spurlock? Check out his piece on Gerald Ford
  • Brian at RYKN.com pays pennance for past VBlog sins by shaving his head
  • The Four Eyed Monsters video podcast gives an inside view on indie filmmaking.
  • And what better to watch on your commute than someone else on their commute in Drivetime

    Destiny's Recruiters

    George Needs You!

And while we're on the subject of recruiting...seems Bill O'Reilly won't be taking any trips to the Bay Area in the new future. (By the way, is the mayor of San Francisco like sixteen, or something)

    We Gave Bob A Dollar

    200511121211
Givebobadollar.com is a social experiment in human genorosity

Or so claims Bob on his site, pictured above with a bicycle lock he just bought with recent donations. Peel back the subtle layers (yes, that's sarcasm) and you'll find a man willing to test the tolerance of idle surfers to see just how many are crazy enough to send him cash for doing absolutely nothing. Million dollar homepages? Too much work. Smashing iPods? No, he wants to keep the shit he buys, thank you very much.

And so, of course, we gave him cash. More than a dollar in fact, as we realized we could vault him up to the three figure level in one swoop. Not only that, we gave him enough to buy one of the fantastic T shirts available in our store. So watch for an updated pic of him wearing it soon (we did ask if his wife could wear it, but don't hold your breaths on that one).

Hey Bob - here's an idea for free too. If you want this thing to really take off, you should let everyone have one of these to put on their website:

    404 Error

Whoops! We're not sure if it was your fault or ours (probably yours, we're good that way) but you've encountered a FATAL ERROR!!! Or at least, a pretty grumpy one.

Specifically the Latvians who run our server are telling us in a weird accent "Smarty error: [in evaluated template line 5]: syntax error: unrecognized tag 'mtfeed' (Smarty_Compiler.class.php, line 580), Comrade!". Ain't life a bitch.

If you want to vent, email our slacker of a webmaster. Otherwise, we'd suggest going back, using search, or clicking around aimlessly on this page like a moron.

    Have fun.
