I needed to tell this to someone. Last night, I played in one of the first round tournaments in Bravo's online poker tournament. It started with about 1,300 players, each having $1,500 in play money. Two and a half hours later, I was sitting at the final table with over $400,000 in my pretend empire....and ended up eighth out of the 1,300.
At the end, I was betting like a retarded oil tycoon, in part because it was fun, and in part because it was gonna take hours to beat the remaining players, each with their own six figure stack in front of them. Highlights included catching several winning cards on the river, and one hand where I thought I lost about $200M, but didn't realize I had a flush. (I was watching the daily show while I played)
Anyway, the tournament's over, but you can still play at the practice ring tables. So, anyone up for a little lunchtime poker? Say 12:30? We can meet at table 50. We can play some cards and talk about independent films. Sound good?
