•Herm Edwards is as bad with the calendar as he is with the clock. Are we sure he knows the season started?
•Whatever the Ravens are paying Deion Sanders, it's (whatever the Ravens are paying Deion Sanders) too much.
•This is the year Tom Brady transitions from Troy Aikman comparisons (three Super Bowl Rings, efficient cog on an amazing team) to Joe Montana comparisons (football deity -- bow in his presence).
•Let's be honest: the media is way overstating how much the Saints win means to a homeless, unemployed person sleeping on the original Astroturf with 8,000 other refugees.
•The 'No-They-Didn't' Moment of Week 1: Ravens fans cheering when their quarterback Kyle Boller was injured. Anthony Wright is probably a better fit. But this is a bad offensive team. And prison seems to have taken its toll on Jamal Lewis.
•The Giants shocked me. Eli didn't invite any family comparisons, but at least he was competent. You'll start seeing more and more #87 jerseys around town if Willie Ponder keeps up his special teams dominance.
•The Cardinals looked just as bad as I've predicted.
•Seriously, Redskins-Cowboys next Monday Night? This isn't exactly Gibbs-Parcells '90. Doesn't ABC have the right to switch away from crappy Monday Night games? Did anyone think Pat Ramsey and the Skins would be a draw?
•Fantasy Football Aquamania: Leading comfortably in both leagues right now, though one opponent has Vick & Owens going tonight, the other has McNabb.
•One college football note: How bad of a coach is Dave Wannstedt?

Thou shalt not harsh on the Boys/Skins game. Drew Bledsoe, comeback player of the year...count it.
I even picked the Cowboys to go to the Super Bowl. Obviously, it was a wild reach, counterbalancing my safe Patriots pick. But I don't need to see them play the Skins.
Actually, after looking at the Week 2 schedule, there aren't a lot of marquee matchups. Jacksonville-Indy, maybe. New England-Carolina, perhaps. OK, I'll watch the Skins-Cowboys. But I'll tune out all the "This is a special night of football dedicated to the victims of Hurricane Katrina" nonsense. More on that later this week.
I saw the Cowboys Superbowl pick. You are wise beyond your years.
