This week's recommended new comic is All Star Batman & Robin #2 by Frank Miller and Jim Lee.
One of the biggest comic events of the year has been the launch of DC Comics' new All-Star line with the return of Sin City's Frank Miller to Batman comics. This All-Star initiative (soon to be expanded with an All-Star Superman title) promises to give superstar creative teams the opportunity to tell the stories they want to tell without the hinderance of the ongoing continuity of DC's shared universe as well as putting the most classic versions of these characters out there for casual readers unfamiliar with concepts like Robin III or Superman's wife.
I didn't get around to mentioning issue 1 when it came out but I'm sure you can still track it down at most comic shops. Besides you actually didn't miss much but some repetitve Miller-ish dialogue and Jim Lee's intricate renderings of Batman's girlfriend walking around in her panties. The story, which is a retelling of how Batman and Robin originally hooked up (not like that), promises to pick up this issue with plenty of Batman kicking corrupt cop ass. Plus if you're lucky you can snag the cover variant shown here which is drawn by Mr. Miller himself.
