I had read about this Beatles tribute band before, but I'd never heard them play before this morning on Howard. They did Strawberry Fields and I Am The Walrus, and I tell you it sounded like they were playing the orginal albums.
The Fab Faux's whole thing seems to be nailing every single note, lyric, sound effect, etc to where it's identical to the original Beatles tunes, and they use twelve musicians playing multiple instruments to do it.
They're playing this Sunday and Monday at Webster Hall. It sounds like they put on a pretty good show.

They were featured in Rolling Stone a few issues back. I love the idea that they are a group of musicians trying to sound like The Beatles rather than a bunch of mopheads trying to look like them.
I listened to Howard this morning too - God DAMN it was cool! I wished I had the $7,500 they are asking for for one performance - plus hotel rooms and travel!
I say go to their website - www.thefabfaux.com - and check them out - you'll get musical snippets, and their band history, which is pretty wild, too.

Johnny Chicago, did the secret service find you? Keep fighting the good fight, brother! Just relax with the threats, we'll get 'em in 2008.
Let's have some fun. Today I bought 4 tickets to Monday's Fab Faux show at Webster Hall. I'll give two tickets to the first reader that posts a comment here, and can come to the NYC show, just because I'd like to meet someone that actually reads the crap we write.
dude, I would like to, but I'm working here in Chi-ville. Sucks to be me. Oh well... sigh
Johnny, I spent two years in Chicago. Worked at JWT on Michigan Ave. Had an apt in Old Town. Definitely coming back to drink with my old buds. We'll have to throw some back and rag on Republicans. Watch the venom, though. We gotta keep our heads to win the war. Next time you feel the rage, remember two words...Howard Dean!
How's it feel to be rejected by 30,000 people?
ok Jellio,
I am playing along - hope this is not a joke!. read your comment about the webster hall tickets, and I am really interested in going. If you're giving them away...cool! - but I am willing to pay for them!!
Please contact me.
Thanks,
